When I first started reading about Montessori I had no idea how it related to babies. It wasn't until I had my second child that I really got my head around it. All the fabric is the same or similar colour (no distractions) but with noticeably different texture. A small (three item) treasure basket. Finger Painting - a sensory experience. Further pincer grasp work. (Similar block available here)... Read more →

Here are some of my favourite Ikea hacks that are either Montessori inspired or really lovely ideas for a Montessori home. 1. Children's Sofa. 2. Children's Table (it's amazing the difference a bit of paint can make!). 5. Light Table or this one. 6. Children's Work Bench. 7. Weaning table and a tutorial here (I believe Nicole used this method... Read more →
Four trays for my four year old. He loves anything plant, leaf, garden, flower related. This is a flower press tray. He loves these Ravensburger puzzles (they are perfect in skill level and are rated 4+), they typically take at least two sessions or two days for him to complete which is why I love presenting them in a tray. He... Read more →
These are some beautiful items I have found on Etsy that would be lovely for the home or school environment. Both the butterfly and leaf stamps would make great gifts and I love them as a natural stamping alternative, they are gorgeous and are so creative compared to commercially made stamps. The matching cards sets are a brilliant idea and something that would really get the children thinking. Also I love these little signs, really sweet. Butterfly Stamp. Threading Leaves. Geometric Matching Shape Cards. Luna Animal Memory (using contrast negative/positive images). Leaf Stamps, but I love everything from this collection.... Read more →
