Caspar and Otis' school is also a boarding school so it doesn't technically close for a snow day. But our driveway was full of snow and rather than walk to school we decided to stay home. It was only the third or fourth time we've actually seen snow falling and we soaked up every minute.
Otto was amazed and delighted!! Last time it snowed he was only a few months old.
We went for a walk earlier in the day with Otto in his snow gear but he was so uncomfortable and wouldn't keep his gloves on. Every time he fell over his hands got cold and he was wearing so many layers he couldn't get back up. But here he is in fewer layers and having a better time.
Of course, there were snow fights with the neighbours, snow-balls and snow men!
Inside it was warm and cozy. Our silhouette lamp and postcards have all been swapped for a snowy winter theme.
Then some time snuggling together. Otis is reading Winter Bees and Other Poems of the Cold by Joyce Sidman How appropriate!!
Otto is reading Winter by Gerda Muller. It's such a lovely book.
I've almost completed my children's reflexology course, my second to last lesson was yesterday. I also took an infant massage course late last year and I feel like I have many more tools in my toolkit for promoting wellness and calm with my children. Mouse and the Storm: Children's reflexology to reduce anxiety and help soothe the senses by Susan Quayle also seems appropriate for today. Although none of my children are feeling particularly anxious this is a lovely method as it uses a hand reflexology program, rather than the feet.
