Montessori books by Christina Clemer Montessori alphabet learning to read
As you may know, I'm a huge fan of Christina Clemer. Christina is a mum to two and a Montessori teacher (3-6yrs).  Christina is also an author of two books Montessori abc's (AU here) and Montessori Silent e (AU here).

Montessori abc's (AU here) is a wonderful 'first', 'abc's' book for Montessori parents and teachers. It is also available in cursive. I would recommend these from 2 years+ but perhaps they most relevant for preschoolers and children who are showing an interest in letters.

It has clear, photographic images and blue/red vowels/consonants. You can read my previous review at Montessori abc's - The Perfect Alphabet Book by a Montessori Mom!

Christina's latest book is Montessori Silent e (AU here)!

It has the same clear photographic images and blue/red vowels/consonants. As the name implies, this is all about teaching the silent 'e'!! There is a page in the front of both books about language development in Montessori and specifically how to use the books.

The words on the left page are without an 'e', the words on the right page are with an 'e'. Fir (as in fir tree) and fire.

Christina has also designed a set of cards also teaching the silent e. These are available as a digital download (on Teachers Pay Teachers), we can use them a guide for using with the moveable alphabet or if we print two copies we can use them as three-part cards.

To read more about how to teach the slient e read Christina's article How to Teach Silent e. You can also find Christina at Motherly and Sunshine, Mud and Montessori.

If your child is ready to learn the silent or magic e, you may also like these silent e spinners. We are using this small moveable alphabet
